The Premium Assistantships will pay a stipend equal to a 1/2-time assistantship plus an additional 33% of a 1/2-time assistantship and full tuition. As the Endowment Graduate Scholarship budget permits, Supplemental Assistantships (All incoming graduate student applicants are eligible.) will be paid a stipend equal to 33% of a 1/2 -time assistantship will be added to the existing assistantship. The Albert L. Walker Excellence in English Award is given annually to undergraduate and graduate students with demonstrated ability in the study of literature. In honor of Professor Walker, former chair of the Department of English, three awards of $300 each will be awarded, one to an undergraduate English major, one to an undergraduate majoring in a subject other than English, and one to a graduate student (any major) who has taken at least one graduate course in literature at ISU. This award was created to honor Erroll B. Davis, Jr. and his nearly 30 years of service to the utility industry and to honor and recognize the importance of scholarship and leadership by students with financial need in the state of Iowa.

Some exceptions may be approved by the administering authority. The summer experiences may include unpaid internships, study abroad, study tours, or another domestic or international experience. All recipients receiving this scholarship as of the date of this Revised Agreement will continue to be renewed so long as they meet the criteria stated in the agreement.
